Privacy Policy
Lana Calendar · Effective November 1, 2026Lana is made by Drexler's Builds, an independent developer in New Jersey, USA ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Lana app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and the website lanacalendar.com.
The short version
Lana doesn't collect your data. There's no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your events and reminders stay on your devices. The only things we keep come from the website, and only if you choose to give them: your email for the waitlist, and your answers to the price question and the feature vote.
Your calendar and reminders
Lana asks for access to your calendars and reminders so it can draw them on the zoomable calendar, and save the events and reminders you create or edit.
- Lana reads and writes them on your device, through Apple's Calendar and Reminders system.
- They sync between your devices the same way they always do, through the accounts you added on your device (for example iCloud, Google or Outlook). That happens between you and those providers. We never receive your events or reminders.
- You can turn access off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars (or Reminders) › Lana.
Smart categories
When Lana suggests a category for an event, that happens on your device, using simple rules and Apple's on-device language model. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
Settings and widgets
Your Lana settings (such as your categories and colors) are saved on your device and synced to your other devices through your own iCloud account. Widgets read a copy stored on the same device. We can't see any of it.
Notifications
Reminders and planning notifications are scheduled on your device. They don't go through any server of ours.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your name, email or payment details. Apple gives us sales reports that don't identify you. See Apple's privacy policy.
Crash reports
If you chose to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may share anonymous crash and usage reports with us. We use them only to fix bugs. You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
If you email us
If you contact support, we use your email address and what you send only to answer you. We delete it when you ask.
The website
- Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, we keep your email address to tell you when Lana launches and, rarely, about big updates. Every email we send will have an unsubscribe link. Your email is stored in a database run by Cloudflare (Cloudflare D1), which hosts this site for us. It's never sold or shared.
- Price question and feature vote: after you join, you can answer one question about price and vote on what Lana builds next. We store your answer, your vote and anything you type. They're linked to your waitlist signup through a scrambled (hashed) version of your email, so each person answers and votes once. Results may be shared in Drexler's Builds videos as totals and percentages, and suggestions may be quoted without your name or email. Please don't put personal information in the suggestion box.
- Hashed IP address: to stop spam and fake votes, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address with each signup, answer and vote, never the address itself. The scrambling changes every day, so it can't be used to follow you over time.
- Bot check: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is filling them in. Turnstile runs in your browser, and Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details for that check. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- How long we keep it: your waitlist email stays until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and no later than 12 months after Lana launches. Your price answer, vote, suggestion and the hashed IP stored with them are kept until Lana launches plus 12 months, or until you ask us to delete them. Short-lived spam-protection counters are deleted within 2 days.
- Deleting your data: email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, and we'll delete your waitlist entry, price answer and vote.
- Hosting: the site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical data (like IP addresses) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- YouTube thumbnail: the home page shows an episode thumbnail loaded from YouTube (Google), so your browser fetches that image from YouTube's servers.
- Cookies and storage: we don't use tracking or advertising cookies. If you join the waitlist, your browser saves a small note that you joined (your email and a sign-up code), so the page remembers you. It stays on your device; clearing this site's data removes it.
Children
Lana isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we have about you, or ask us to delete it. For the app, the answer is: nothing. For support emails, the waitlist, your price answer and your vote, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll say so in the app's release notes.
